Get out of town! Hiking rejuvenates and restores, and lets you see a different side of New Mexico. With a variety of terrain and elevations, hiking is a year-round activity here.
Our tours are your tours: we ask lots of questions ahead of time then together choose a route so your adventure suits your interests, your schedule and your abilities. We know the places to hike and when they're at their best -- the less-visited nearby gems or the truly remote trails requiring our 4WD to get to trailheads.
Interpretive hikes in popular areas like Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks or Bandelier National Monument can be paired with other trails nearby for a memorable personal tour. See O'Keeffe country around Abiquiu or grand views of the Valles Caldera. We design tours for all levels and all abilities.
Private hiking tours may be leisurely and educational, or energetic treks to surrounding peaks. Trail time (exclusive of travel) may vary from 2 - 7 hours for adventures ranging from half-day jaunts to seriously full-day tours. Even a short walk can give you loads of insight and information that you won't get from a guidebook or likely see on your own.
Your Outspire hiking guide will work with you to plan the perfect outing for your interests and needs. With Outspire, you dictate the pace. We'll provide the use of a daypack stocked with water, trail snacks, poncho, and adjustable trekking poles. Your hiking guide will carry maps, binoculars, nature guides, and a first aid kit. Hikers should bring extra clothing layers, sturdy shoes, and a desire for fun!
Staying true to our belief that playing outside has the power to inspire, all outings include plenty of breathers to enjoy the views, soak it all in, and replenish with water and snacks. Come hiking with us!
